Hi all! My name is Artemis and I come from Greece. From my earliest memories I have had a deep connection with animals, especially street dogs. The small, helpless creatures have always touched my heart. As a child, I felt obligated to save them, even if it meant sheltering them in my bedroom—knowing that my parents might not fully understand my actions. But as any parent knows, babies and silence rarely go hand in hand, and my four-legged companions often found their way to Grandma's house. Fortunately, she never rejected a new dog and my heart swelled with joy. When I got older, I moved to the enchanting island of Santorini. There I continued my dog rescue and at one point had a remarkable 14 to 16 dogs in and out of my home. Watching them communicate and solve problems was nothing short of amazing. The dogs have an innate ability to find solutions, based on instincts and natural behaviour. Throughout my journey I have committed myself to treating dogs ethically. I have seen how show dogs are sometimes treated, often sacrificing their own well-being for human gratification. The use of training methods that are at the expense of their health worries me deeply. When I moved to Norway, I was first happy about the absence of street dogs. However, I soon realized that a new trend was emerging – one that embraced cages as beds and held onto outdated methods. These practices exacerbated the problems rather than solving them. Determined to make a difference, I immersed myself in the study of ethical ways to train both dogs and owners. The dogs have always been my guides, my teachers and my most faithful friends. They have taught me about patience, love and the deep connection that can exist between humans and animals. I carry their wisdom with me wherever I go. For me, it's not just a passion – it's a way of life. 🐾❤️
